Descriptions and tips for Disneyland (Anaheim,CA) Sea world and California Adventure?
My family and I are all going to California to go to Disneyland, CA, and Sea world.
The ages inculde 17, 11, 6, and 3. The 17, 11, and 6 year old enjoy speed and huge rides. (mostly the 17 and 11 year old)
The 3 year old enjoys cars and trains.
I would find it helpful to get some worthy tips on how to plan out the park days.
PLEASE AND THANK YOU:)
None of these places are really known for fast rides, in comparison to something like Six Flags Magic Mountain(North of LA). But there are still quite a few rides they will like. There is also A LOT more than just the big rides that they will like to do.
First of all you should take advantage of FastPass when avaiable. If you do not know what this is, it is a free service where you use your Park ticket on select attractions to receive a return time for later in the day. When your time comes up you avoid the regular stand-by line and have a minimal wait. The catch is that every one in your group that is going to ride needs one, and you are allowed only 1 every two hours or when the first one becomes valid. The time you can get the next one will be printed on the bottom of your current FastPass ticket.
If there is any ride everyone wants to go on, but the 3yo can not ask the Cast Member at the ride entrance for a "Switch Pass". What this does is part of your group waits in line and at when they are done, "switch" with the person who was watching the 3yo. Then that person and one other go and do not have to wait through the entire line again. This is available on rides with a height restriction
If the 3yo loves trains and cars you need to go on the Disneyland Railroad as well as Autopia. But neither of those need much planning. You can even use the Disneyland RR as a way to get from one area of the park to another. If you do this, you should avoid getting on in Frontierland as this station generally has the longest wait through most of the day. For Autopia you can get a FastPass if you are going on it in the middle of the day, but if you go on early or near closing you generally do not need a FastPass.
For the older ones the Fastest ride would be California Screamin at California Adventure. This does have a minimum height requirement of 48" so the 6yo may not be tall enough. Another ride would be Tower of Terror. Both of these have FastPasses available.
In Disneyland they would probably like, Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Star Tours, Splash Mountain. Space Mountain, Big Thunder and Splash Mountain all have FastPass available. What you should do is as soon as you arrive get a FastPass for Space Mountain. Depending on when you go the FastPass for Space Mountain could actually save you anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes.
For Sea World the main ride for them would be Journey to Atlantis. This is a combination of Roller Coaster/Flume ride. Just as with Splash Mountain you can/will get wet. So just be prepared for that. Since you can get wet the longest lines would be during the heat of the day so if you don't mind you can go at opening or near closing and have a shorter wait.

Well, one of my favorite rides there is Space Mountain. The older kids probably would like that.

Disney is so great! There are great rides for 3 year olds that any age could go on and not feel stupid. There are mostly younger kids rides through out the park so one parent can go on a younger kids ride the older kids go on thiers then it is easy to meet up.
Sea world has a ton of hands on stuff, which is fun for all ages. I would definatly take advantage of all of it. You have to see the penguins while you are there!
Every one will have fun, just stay relaxed and remember your on vacation!

Disneyland is totally kid-friendly, so I'm sure everyone will love it. For the older kids, some rides I'd suggest are: Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Matterhorn (If the 6 year old is brave, I'm sure he/she would enjoy this one; I've ridden it since I was 7!), Pirates of the Caribbean, etc; For the 3 year old, you could try: It's a small world, jungle cruise, the big steam boat near tom sawyer's island (I forgot what it's called) or other slow rides like that. I haven't been to Sea World recently, so I don't remember much, but for the older ones, definitely go on the Journey to Atlantis ride. For the rest of the family, all of the shows are must-sees! California Adventures is mostly for older kids, but there is this one section of the park dedicated mostly to younger children. I forgot the name, but it has something to do with that Bug's Life movie. There is an amazing ride at CA Adventure called Soarin' Over California. Definitely go on that. It's not a scary rollercoaster or anything, but even thrill-seekers will enjoy this one. Also, try out the grizzly bear river run for one of those family river rapid rides.
Have fun, and enjoy your trip! =D

Ok, well the last time i went to Sea World i was 4, so i don't remember much, but i went to Disneyland over fall break and California Adventures last spring break.
Disneyland is definitely good for all ages, but the 17, 11, and 6 year old will like it more. It has faster and bigger rides than CA (with the exception of the Tower of Terror, California Screamin, and the Grizzly Bear Rapids(i think that's what it's called, lol))
Since it looks like you've already gotten a ton of descriptions already, some tips & facts are…
Disneyland on the weekend closes at midnight and California Adventures closes at 10 on the weekends
Dont get a Disneyland hotel. They're ridiculously overpriced (they can be about $400 average a night) and it costs only about $70 for a hotel within walking distance
Tickets are avaliable a LOT cheaper to Southern California residents, so if it's possible, buy your tickets in California (the tickets are usually sold at grocery stores) (im not sure if that would work, but it might)
If your going during the summer, it can get really hot! so bring lots of water, and even a mini fan or a spray bottle to mist and cool down.
Try to avoid bringing a stroller, they get in the way and other people are always tripping over them while walking through a busy crowd
California Adventures has a whole "land" basically dedicated to little kids, it's called "Bugs Life" or "Bug's Land" or something, and it has tons of rides for the younger kids (6 and 3) but the 11 and 17 year olds might not care to much for it
Everything at Disneyland is overpriced, so if your looking to save money, bring your own food. They check your bags before you get your ticket and they allow you to bring food into the "park" area, but they dont like you bringing food into the actualy Park. But they don't check your bags after you get your ticket and get into the park, so they don't really know.
Try bringing as little bags as possible, because if you get into the "park" area, where you buy your tickets, and you realize you dont want to carry all your stuff, you have to choices 1. carry your stuff with you all day or 2. put your stuff in a locker which costs from $5-$11
I wouldn't make to detailed of a plan, just take turns going on rides people want to go on.
They have 2 train rides at Disneyland. one is for the whole family and it takes you around the park and drops you off at different locations, plus you go through a little "exhibit" thing. The second one would be good for the 3 year old, and im not really sure about that one because i've never been on it.
Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, and The Matterhorn are good rides for the 11, 6, and 17 year old
I think the whole family would like Pirates of the Caribean, The Haunted Mansion, Small World, The Teacups, Autopia, and Peter Pan
the 3 year old would probably love the Winnie the Pooh ride
Fastpasses are great too, you can get a fastpass, with a certain time span, and then you get to go through a really fast line that gets you there in about 5 minutes
Take a lot of pictures so you can save ur memories =]
Have fun =D Disneyland/California Adventures is a lot of fun!!!

AWESOME! lucky bums. can i come? =]
well disneyLAND is a great family park, aimed at the younger crowd, but the 17 year old might get a little anxious.
the 3 year old would have a blast at disneyland,
Autopia: Drive ur own car on a track
ThunderMountain: train/mild-ish roller coaster.
In Toontown, thers a crazy taxi ride, and a mini 20 second roller coaster.
USE FAST PASSES! they will save lots of time, if you plan on seeing a parade, sit down about 45 min before it starts to hold a spot, turkey legs are the best buy for your money.
find them rite outside frontier land and adventure land,
or inbetween mattahorn and itz a small world.
California adventure is gonna close down soon, so get your kicks while you can.
This place has the most "thrill" rides, well as far as "thrill" goes for disney. 1 huge roller coaster, 1 "100" foot drop or sumtin, and a 13 story drop. Try to get to flying over california, that is one of the most innovative rides in disney.
Most people can do everything they want in california in one day, disneyland can take about 2 days
I suggest seeing the Alladin show,(in california) very very very good.
anything else just ask.
